How Our Sublimation Products Are Made

Sublimation engraving is a modern printing process that permanently embeds your design into specially coated materials using heat and pressure. First, your custom artwork or text is printed in reverse using sublimation ink on transfer paper. The paper is then placed onto the surface of the item—such as metal, glass, slate, or ceramic.

When heat is applied, the sublimation ink turns into a gas and bonds directly with the coating, creating a durable, fade-resistant engraving effect. Unlike traditional engraving, sublimation does not chip, peel, or wear off, making it ideal for long-lasting, high-definition designs.

Step 1: Create the Design

Your artwork, logo, or text is digitally designed and sized for the product. The design is then mirrored to ensure it transfers correctly during the sublimation engraving process.

Step 2: Print with Sublimation Ink

The mirrored design is printed onto sublimation transfer paper using specialized sublimation ink. This ink is designed to activate only under heat.

Step 3: Prepare the Surface

The sublimation paper is carefully positioned onto a specially coated surface such as metal, glass, slate, or ceramic. Proper alignment ensures sharp, professional engraving results.

Step 4: Apply Heat and Pressure

The item is placed in a heat press, where high temperature and pressure cause the ink to turn into a gas. The ink permanently bonds with the coating, creating the engraved effect.

Step 5: Cool and Reveal

Once cooled, the transfer paper is removed to reveal a permanent, vibrant, and fade-resistant sublimation engraving that will not peel, crack, or wear away.
