Jacob Passey – Owner / CEO

Jacob was born in Kanarraville, a small town in Southern Utah. He attended school in Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High School in 2015. 
 
After graduation, Jacob served a two-year church mission to Frankfurt Germany. During those two years, he led and managed up to 60 missionaries in different proselytizing and training areas. He became proficient in the German language. 
 
Upon returning home, he began attending classes at Southern Utah University. Soon after, he declared his major in business management, and a minor in German Translation. After being an accounting TA for 3 years, a double major in accounting was added on. He graduated from SUU in 2021, Summa Cum Laude, and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. 
 
Throughout High School and College, Jacob worked at his family’s business Gem Awards. He learned about different engraving processes, developed his customer service skills and fueled the entrepreneurial spirit within him. It was also at this time that he learned basic coding and web development skills that led him to create the expanding online community at gemawards.com. 
 
Today, he is President of Gem Awards, which has become the largest awards store in Utah, and the fastest growing trophy shop in the United States.
