What Is Sublimation Engraving?

Also called sublimation printing, this method doesn’t remove material like traditional engraving. Instead, the design is printed onto metal or plastic by transferring it from special paper using heat and pressure.

Step #1:

– It starts with creating the design on a computer. Logos and text are formatted in any color and printed in reverse using a sublimation printer with custom settings.

Step #2:

– The engraving material is then secured to the printed design using heat-resistant tape.

Step #3:

– The product is pressed under high heat and pressure for 55–90 seconds, transferring the image from the paper to the engraving material. Once it cools, the paper is removed to reveal the full-color image on the metal or plastic surface.
